so, this website is basically a world, or setting, Then it became my own Space within a Greater multi-system RPG. this is essentially our work of fantasy fiction, as the collaborative artwor

 

The website uses knowledge of stage magic, effects, optical illusion, magic itself ~ storytelling, to tell its story, to get its message across,  as you travel in the FolornWorld  all the pages relate to each other in this super-space, you can see the visual magic at work,  missing overall. And also to have complete control for my universe inside my imagination to flourish, but this exists in the hyperspace - it persists, and exists as a living alive real place for all to visit.

FolornWorld is truly alive, you can use this website as like a looking glass to look into the miniature world

r ideas are ones like use of sound, buttons to press to emit sounds, or environmental sounds, so when you are scrolled to one particular part of a page for that to play swamp sounds (if you were at the swamp).


other things to make better use of still are animated images, or two/way change images,

other things too like trapdoors, hidden entrances, buttons, transport, interconnectedness

The FolornWorld has many levels and many places witnin levels, but it has some false-ends too,


 


 i wanted to take this idea of the awareness of the expansiveness of the mysterious scale of the world  then to give it that specific magical, geographic role ,time-based role. - To be able to play
"our familiar game" inside.


So, for instance if you wantder far into the forest, you may
find not much else but the wilderness, to get back to the city,
you would have to travel back to the known location of where you last saw the city.

The StormLands    this region is the Stormy northern peaks region of the planet. engulfing the Polar Hemisphere. the tilt & spin of the world add to its lightning flash-storms. thunder comes and goes across multiple layers of 'Spire-regions' and bubble-hills. the intense vegetation regions of the world tame down the fericious aspects of the stormworld quite a bit, tending to transmute the Storm into a torrent of rain, rainstorms, resulting in a large mass of Wetworlds on the planet. but in the Harsher, darker regions, the Northern & Polar Caps, the exposure to space is strong, the chemical make=up interesting, the winds have been powerful for many centuries, . the mixture of Spoace-Storms, and a maelstorm of various toxic/hybrid storms have continued for a long time now,  The region tends to be rockier, more Barren, darker, It is quite desolate, and covers a vast region, in comparison to its residents living there. Hermits do seem to come and go, Weather stationsare st-up there, for convienence.It's isolated nature, make it tricky for a traveler.

And herein lies the lost scrollguide to GloonTown. Once rebuilt during
the 5th Era. the current manifestation of major city dwellings is from the 6th to 7th era, the CyberSpires arose during the early 7th Era, as the stormlands of the North continued to dominate throughout the 6th Era. Now the ruins became canal-works. the Old city became a dense mass of factories and cham-o'lots, the city fell under light & was transformed, an Upper level, a Skycity.
a Series of interconnected Palaces & acadamies linked to the Citadel.
But also a wasteland Sump whose likes spills over even into the fallen domain, further below...
There are numerous places of interest in the Gloomcity:
a Market Sq, amongst other traders throughout the whole city...
An Orrerry(observatory) that guides sciences and arcane, & wastches the skies.
indeed many Nova Wizards & Cosmic Wizards & magacians dwell amongst the gloomtown.
There are more intermediate levels, A Canalsystem, SubterreneanWorld,
With Underdwellings and Under-dustricts. But thus also belong to the world between worlds, strange Doorways & Dungeons also lurk under the CityCastleComplex.
Way out back into the Forests are numerous. As there is more than two or three ways in and out o f the Cybercity or GloonTown.

In Order to first understand  Էhe fбrlժrռ ẃбrld, we must understand the Greater picture and setting, and how Էhe fбrlժrռ ẃбrld is greater than the sum of its parts, combined. 
~ Naturality- is a "Boxed-in"-name, but does not fully comprende the actual nature of where the RPG takes place.  As Էhe fбrlժrռ ẃбrld may be a specific , albiet ambigous location - but there is a wider universe. and the Glossary will act as a codex to explain and identify most of the "folorn'"  world's place, time & setting. And also the Why's and How's of things taking place, albiet in it's own dreamlike fashion, or comicbook-moodboard style throughput - Although most work was original, much is also owed to the  of all the  human beings who are associated with the said creation of such thereof good fine art & crafts If Էhe fбrlժrռ ẃбrld  is any type of decent place you like?, and then my idea is that it is like a web-comic series that you can return as frequently as you like to, and the story will be ever-unfolding and continuing down unusual lines and becoming improved by the day, , And so it is anyhow,  rpg~lists~and rpg~toplists~/ IRC / TelNet --webforums/ etc can feel free to link or reference it, As i mentioned Էhe fбrlժrռ ẃбrld still has a very specific theme, set on a SF/Fantasy mysterious Planet.... and a very specific set of conditions and style attatched to that theme- It has its own Soul.  sometimes pronounded of shortened Ujlo, sometimes in full: Ujzoklandia - - This is the Planet that the Tryffid-overgrown,wet,  stormy planet  known as  Էhe fбrlժrռ ẃбrld Set upon. Many of the events of the world take place here. It is set south by way of the crystal~dust Space-Sea, in a cosmic wallows, a backwater edge, a dimension of the universe where the light from the many old suns is pooled into a Wat. Asteroid belts frequently pass by, and cosmic winds buffer the Inner layers of this star-cluster, causing shards to frequently pass across the galactic-orbit Many Moons were formed as a result of the asteroidal  crossings; As a result known moons in orbit around UjL'AH are in the estimated number of hundreds.
the multiple Stats in the system and moons along with debris make this dust-galaxy cluster on the backwater of space-time a valid, strange system. Minimal contact with Outerspace civlised species or tehchs has meant an evolutionary marvel has developed, of uniqueness: the gravity complex of the region of space, warps Ujlu between a red~cloud of space-time shifting along a flux  the temporal domain along a horizontal/galactic plane axis 
Ujlo's plantery size is not known, estimated as a small-ish planet- it has been undergoing odd fluctuations in its magnetic resonances, as is rapidly gaining mass & momentum as its storms grow in duration and experacity.
the whirlwind nature of this outer-system is increasing, as its technological expertise & refinement.

DarkTown- GloomKeep   - (sometimes referred to as UrMa's CastleKeep, or the Castleworld)        - - -           the Gloom city -(&the CyberSpire/ CyberCity) -is a Vast sprawling clagworks of a sumpcity.... darketowne & the Sump are both the undertowns of the gloomcity, the City operates of essentially five levels, the UpperCity~ the UpperPalace and highetowne. ~ & the Tower itself where Artifice is run from - and the city intellectual elite guide the imperators of gloomtown. the Sanctuary of the City/Annex/Plaze/Gardens itself , run by the Council who facilitate the Orrery- the  CityCommerce & Sump overseen by the RedPalace & the Apotecarists in their cloister of organisations.
But there is also a Sub-level to the City, a subterrenean canal-netowrk, the Sewers themselves, An UnderCity, even an Entire UnderWard of residenciesm #& homes. the DarkCity / the UnderCity, aka the twilight city lives and broods under the very foundations of Gloomtown. gloomtown, may centrelize inm the Cybertower,CyberCity; - the immer provides space-jets, space lifts, spaceprobes; to direct communications and transport efforts into Space regions above the planet.  gloomtown, runs a market square, with common goods, barter, trade, it is a more complex city than you may think, There are remote walkways off to other parts of the city ( the library / the SpireGates / the palace /etc) and multiple passageways to differnt parts of hte undercity. Even beneath the subterrenean city- is the City of Doors: one part of Sigil: - beneath that further - is the penadmonium- dUnder the Castle: the Abyss layer under the Castle, as the magicks of the CastleWorld opened up a doorway into the Pandeminium realms . Expect perhaps the possibility of travel to other dimensions/worlds/place within the City of Doors, or when down the UnderCity: that is if you can politically arrange it for yourself to acquire nessecary travel permits from their inept bureau. 






the Upper-City'                     this is literally the Highest point in the Gloon Castle-city,tower-world.  It is where, usually both the highest, most socially esteemed citizens of Gloomtown reside,, and also literally the UpperDistrict of the City.
                                       A number of ultra-Tall Tower-Spires do Tower above the highest  partsof the CastleWorld.But they are difficultt to axquire oaccess into. They are run by the rich &powerful .    the UpperCity has numerous suspended                                               bridges and floating                                                 walkways,connecting various sub-districts in this, often  delicatly and perilously perched  Upper-Town         some of the floating bridges support various                                                                            cargo,ascanal & tugboats are purposed travel-passage through an elaborate ,                                                                    gravity-defyingnetworkof Canals, sewers

The Naturality ~ RPG in the folorn world Uses a number of different Dice to play the Game with.
If you pay attention to the Rules, they will work for you. If you fully read the explainations, then you can work with its system.
In order to remain as untouchable and obtruse as possible,Naturality~RPG is Dynamically Arcane.
yes, this is the Real OSR system, however Hybridised and nessecarily tweaked for a better Make-Believe experience. (Pure Wizardry, then?)
Yes. But only for the true of heart.
For those with an open-mind who can conceptualize dream-logic. This is
Fantasy  at its Wildest, purest and most optimistic.
Pacifism is the key to this RPG. This is finally one of those Deeply configured platonic, peaceful RPG's that Does not include combat At all.
We abhorre those things at Naturality. Video games will do that better as rpg systems if that is what you want. oiherwise original OSR or almost all other RPG games will gladly cater to that side of affairs. But Naturality~RPG is a more civilized, complex, intricate system designed around the Deeper sides of life, How to explore and prosper in Naturality? many options are available! How to survive a potentially hazardous Natural environment? There are many wilderness survival tools you can learn.
How Magic? Indeed Magic has deep influence and Spell Crafting, (just not of any violent type). Spells are magical, divine, magic has just spiritual good elements

For the time being due to Personal quirky limitations We Will be using the following Dice:

How to Begin:  Where to Begin:
Bring Your AD&D ! or Gurps character along"! Or make a new Role relevant for beginnings in -Naturality~rpg-  ;)
the FoLorn Basin / the fallen domain / the valley of flowers/ is being designed to be inter-compatiable with as many rpg systems as possible at once! so no need to worry too much! it is systemically integrated into OSR and older system styles,yet with nessecary (in my mind) tweaks and changes to systems that mostly needed expanding,and other recatogorical changes to work with the hybrid system in Naturality~~~      I bet you plan to manipulate the game to your desires, But okay. You can Start Afresh! in the folorn world, the hybrid Stats starting rules are: 0 zero, for all stats, things start off Low, stats are levelled too. so lvl 1 in climbing is not where you being. You being at level 0. Level1 is not any starting point. it begins at Lvl.0

I know the game isn't 100% or 500% finished yet, but everyday new things are added, so it;kk bever be finished, its a living WIP system with a hybrid twist that is open to incorporating particular, but only specific elements from almost anywhere. keep checking back if you like, work on the game is continual and constant :)

There are countless possibilities within the folorn world.
and yet - 
May your explorations and magicks be wholesome and interesting -
the Game takes a peaceful nature - without fighting.
fortunately this creates a gameworld with even more possibilities for an RPG system.

The folorn/fallen world is full of mysteries and happenings on, that could potentially tame the tail in the unwary traveler.
Even omens of odd monstrosoties, even Highlevel Wizard's would find... something to be curious about.
It is meant to work for everyone. Nor for all RP role-sets.

But you can be whoever you want, the simulation will try to run a virtual society, wherby many things are also interactive & engaging! humorous and engaging. the hybrid rpg system will expand and become easier to use , more intellgent and comprehensive over time............ the CodeX will cover All nessecary playing guides.

Developer's Notes: the 'garden enchanater's diary'

The  Folorn World is foremost a Simulation, a siumlated world. Very much akin to a 'model toy-town' or elaborate model city, complete with running trains, Much akinto an extended animator's Set, or filmset. But also in a sort of vaguely digestable Graphic novelist's style. 
The Folorn World takes some inspiration from its content material source, as it may suggest. Naturaliity i was impressed with modded Morrowind, Modded Obilvion, Modded Skyrim and the amazing "Wsimulated virtual worlds feel" that was happening, especially thseedays in the simualtion feel of modded morrowind in 20920 is just strangely amazing.
So, they inspired me, Along side the " simulated feel " of mmorpg's with a running day /night cycle. qutrg a seasonal cycle.
And this is exactly what the folorn world tries to Create. 
I am using optical techniques to simluate the effects of day night cycles, time passing, events having come and gone,
with a live website i may potentially be able to simulated many of thse updates wioth subtle well-timed responses.
the folorn world is meant to be interactive. Anything you find so far, that you can interact with, by doing so, your interaction will create a conequence,
Upon having exploreda new area, i wanted to organically make the rpg system work within the world, thing will change accorgingly overall in the world, as the simulation technique takes hold and continues week afeter week , You should be able to notice the differrence between Night & Day in the folorn world's simulation of itself.
by tampering with visuals and grahpics somehow and with the nature of the electronic meadium itself, some of this dreaminess may become evidentIt lives it its own dreamy way. Weather you explore it with your conciousness or with psychedelic extras, then it is up to you,But i want this game to come to life! and to be an amazing Reactive, magical place to explore and that Somehoe, somehow changes and lives acccording to our interactions . A world that we can RP in.

Notes on:   Magic & How magic works in Naturality~RPG
Fortunately thefolornworld uses the Same D&D system you are used to!
So there are some differences &
[[ Domain specific affects ]] & morphs / magic region-wide effects, etc.

Magic, by its very nature is mercurial, mysterious and also mostly unknown, presumed unknowable.
To decipher these mysteries and learn strange, obscure or arcane arts One would need to look deep within themselves. 
Perhaps the Library is a good place to start? Perhaps there are some willing Mages who would Mentor?
        Perhaps the Library Bookcases would hint at deeper secrets or lost knowledge?
 perhaps to learn Scribal crafts, one could produce or procure Paper and Inks from lesser materials.
with Refinement scrolls & scroll~books could be made & Scry's could be Cast.
      But what does hint at the mystery of magic?
           There are Artificing specific Tools designed to aid in the Finding of magic (or magic items) / or magic essences with properties. orbs/etc.
        One such tool is called a Dweomer.
Certain Items or "objects" in the gameworld May be checked for with a dweomer. i.e. a Shiny Rock or Odd-looking Stone could be scanned for, to check for magical properties, and then once the properties are discoveredv
   Other different devices or Acts may be employed to make further use of the discovered magic (Or, other elemental property) As the Dweomer also will discover Gases & Other elemental or natural (arcane) properties.

To Firet Play,    begin with either your existing Character. (RP character) in the ղǎțꜷꞧȴіϮɏ-RPG , or țhԑe fбrlժrռ ẃбrld ՓԲ Մlտեeaռa Xoﬗm~ you will          need to understand Who you are. And what your soul's purpose is in the Cosmology.
   To know thyself is wisdom.
And if you have wisdom You can choose who you are also.

                             and naturally, Just one RolPlaying character  at a time.

perhaps the realm beyond,does indeed join in the Game-world...

Good / Neutral / Chaotic, and factional alignments do apply, and will affect how the world treats you, be careful. How you act will affect how the GameWorld reacts to to you. Who you meet & whom you ally with will affect untold other consequences. What you say, and what you ask for and request,will rebound like a butterfly flaps its wings...
       How all the minds & souls & visitors & RPers of the folorn world Act will become the #RPworld... time goes on...
  the world changes... adapts... the DungeonMaster will intervene and interact, perhaps in the disguise of another character? and will smooth out the journey.... and handle player reactions /interactions by changing the course of the Games' furutre together, we can all play!

In Naturality-RPG, It is alot like AD&D,(Any Edition) but it is its own Hybridized system. learning and utilkizing from the framework of many other systems, OSR/TSR and alike.  A roughly [] []{}/\/\grid-based square paced game~(ala' board-game design) Where one Tile represents one dice number in a roll. (Upon a given Roll the roll-number gives the numeric equivalent options for how many game tiles could be traversed (moved) that turn. for instance If a D10 is rolled and the roll lands on a 7, then that turn you have the option(s) to move any amount of gametiles inbetween numbers 1 -7, or you could also choose not to Move and wait for Your movement Roll on the Next Turn.   
Journeying around the Gameworld is important to the game and exploration is sometimes encouraged!
But it works exactly the Same way as old school ad&d. So you should know how to play already, just journey into the FoLorn lands with your current RP character.

There may be sub-rules and Setting-specific hybridised Rulesets, As the world of   Naturality has its own variant specific ways things might work differently. Yet should be treated like a gameworld / campaign setting, That absolutely you should journey into the FoLorn~World with your current running Game character from whatever game. Your character is who you are, thats the point.
